Unplanned Outage

Shortly after 1.17am the master machine running our database had a hardware failure.

Unfortunately the nature of the failure meant it was duplicated to the backup system before the master went offline. This took out the web service CDN and email delivery.

Backup was repaired and service was able to be restored by 1.37pm.

There were also some shorter semi-planned outages between 3pm and 5pm as the master system was replaced and service switched back into full operation.

Email during the outage should only have been delayed, with delivery occuring over the next few days.

Websites hosted through us were unreachable for the time of the outage and are now restored.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Squid Proxy Server

The Squid version 3.1 software provides us with Internet gateway capabilities for the wireless networks, IPv6 access for all clients and a lot of bandwidth and speed improvements on web services.
As a return to the Open-Source community and to enable Squid to perform some specialized actions for us long-term, Amos participates and sponsors some developments.
